Individual, business, AOP and company NTN issued through the FBR IRIS portal, along with activation on the Active Taxpayers List so you enjoy filer rates.
An NTN, or National Tax Number, is your identity with FBR. For individuals in Pakistan, the NTN is the same as your CNIC number and is created the moment you register on IRIS. For businesses, AOPs and companies, a separate seven digit NTN is issued. Without it, you cannot file a return, cannot open a business bank account with most banks, cannot import or export, and cannot bid for most contracts.
Fastest of the lot. We need your CNIC, mobile number registered against your CNIC, personal email and employer details. Registration is completed on the same day and your login credentials are shared with you.
For traders, shopkeepers, freelancers with a business name, small manufacturers and service providers. In addition to personal details we register the business name, principal activity, business address and business bank account.
For registered partnership firms and unregistered associations of persons. We handle the partnership registration first if required, then create the NTN.
Automatically triggered after SECP incorporation but often left half done. We complete the IRIS registration, principal activity setup and appointment of authorised representative so your return can actually be filed later.
One condition often missed. The mobile number and email you use on IRIS must be registered in the applicant's own CNIC. If your SIM is in someone else's name, port it or get a new one in your own name first.
Salaried individual NTN is issued the same day. Business categories are generally issued within one to two working days, subject to biometric verification where applicable. Company NTN activation is completed within two working days after SECP incorporation.
Having an NTN is not the same as being a filer. To appear on the Active Taxpayers List and enjoy lower withholding tax rates, you must file the return for the last completed tax year. We include filing of the current year return as part of our combined package if you want it done in one go.
Yes. Your CNIC serves as your identifier but you still need an IRIS account to actually file returns and appear on the ATL. Creating the IRIS account is what we do.
For individual salaried NTN yes. For business NTN, a business bank account or a personal account earmarked for business use is typically required for verification.
Indefinitely. You keep the same NTN throughout your life. What lapses is your filer status on the ATL, which needs annual return filing to maintain.
